Salman-Aamir War Heats Up!

The battle lines have been drawn. Salman Khan and Aamir Khan are ready to fight it out even before their respective wrestler films - Sultan and Dangal - go on floors.

With Dangal, Aamir is bringing the life of Mahavir Singh Phogat, who coached his daughters to win the CommonWealth Games in 2010, to the big screen. Salman too is playing a wrestler in the Abbas Ali Zafar-directed movie. Surely, the two Khans can't be too happy that their next projects revolve around the same theme.

Now, there's a bigger problem at hand.

Aamir recently learnt that portions of Sultan will be shot in Haryana. We hear, the actor was left worried with this piece of news. After all, even he is shooting his Nitesh Tiwari drama in the same state.

Considering Sultan will release months before Dangal's Christmas release, Aamir felt that the Salman-starrer will have an edge over him.

So what did Mr. Perfectionist do? We hear, he picked up the phone on Yash Raj Films' head honcho Aditya Chopra and asked him all about Sultan's Haryana schedule. He allegedly requested the filmmaker to ensure that they don't shoot in the same locales where Dangal will be shot.

Adi, who has worked with Aamir in Fanaa and the bumper hit Dhoom 3, lent a patient ear to the actor. Post the all-important call, Sultan's team was apparently sent out to hunt for locales in Punjab instead of Haryana. The Aamir effect, we tell you.

Looks like the actor doesn't want to make a single wrong move as far as Dangal is concerned. Especially since Sallu is breathing down his neck with the blockbuster Bajrangi Bhaijaan.

If you go back a few weeks, you'll know how the Salman-Aamir dynamics have changed after the Kabir Khan film.

Bajrangi Bhaijaan has broken most box-office records to become the 2nd highest grosser in Bollywood, just a few steps behind PK. There was speculation that it might even dethrone PK from its top position.

It was then that rumours surfaced that Aamir was the first choice for Bajrangi Bhaijaan. Buzz was, he had turned down the film citing date issues.

When asked about Aamir being offered the film, Salman said at a press conference, "Aamir had told me that the film had come to him and he sent them to me. So it's Aamir's generosity or...." he trailed off before breaking into laughter.

It was also reported that the two actors had a showdown at the recent success party hosted by Salman. The Kick actor apparently lost his cool when Aamir kept on telling anybody and everybody at the party that he was offered the project first.

While Salman has dismissed the showdown story as baseless rumours, sources close to the actors insist that they are keeping tabs on each other's films now.

Hmmm...will Bollywood lose its famous Khan dosts because of these films? Only time will tell.
